The largest body, tooled one generation back
This shell is cut for the 17 Pro Max and fits the 18 Pro Max on the same footprint. What moved between the years is the camera opening and the button cuts; the wall, the surface and the colours did not.
On a body this size the fit has to be right rather than close. A Pro Max is wide and heavy, so the corners take the impact and the side walls carry the weight — and because the same grip that survives a drop resists a side peel, removal should start at the bottom edge. That single line prevents most fit complaints on large bodies.
Two features sharing one back
The ring and the button opening both live on this rear panel: the magnet sits low enough that a wallet or mount still grips, and the cutout leaves the camera-control button with its own click. Neither feature blocks the other.
Moulded for the big Pro
The outline follows the 17 Pro Max, which the 18 Pro Max also shares, so one tooling covers both. A rigid clear back and a flexible rim split apart for cleaning or a rim swap.
