The volume model — and why it deserves its own tooling
The standard iPhone 17 is the single biggest installed base in the range. It is the handset that walks into a phone shop most often, which makes it the line that keeps a shelf card earning between flagship launches. That volume is also why it should never be sold as a “close enough” fit borrowed from another model: the camera opening and button positions are unique to this body, and at this order volume a mismatched cut turns into returns at scale rather than a handful of complaints.
Practically, this is the model to hold deeper stock on and to pair with the widest colour card, because it sells in colours rather than in specifications. If you are building a starter order across several models, this is the one to weight.
What the name does and does not mean
Despite the name there is no folding prop on this shell. “Camera Stand” describes the raised camera plateau formed in the mould — the moulded lip that lifts the lens ring clear of a table — and not a kickstand. A buyer who wants the phone to actually stand up should be pointed at Clear 360° Stand, eight shades for the 360° ring or 45° Kickstand MagSafe for a fixed 45° prop.
Camera-control button left fully open
The opening around the camera-control button is clear on every side, so the button keeps its own travel and click with no cover in the way. The back carries a premium coated finish rather than a bare moulding, which is what makes a unit read as a finished product on a retail peg.

A magnet ring is laminated into the back plate and aligned for MagSafe chargers and magnetic car mounts, so the magnetic accessories the customer already owns work without an added metal plate.
