• Customs duty: 5% on CIF value — the standard GCC rate, applied at Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz Port (Dammam) or the land crossings.
• VAT: 15% — notably higher than the UAE’s 5%. Registered Saudi businesses reclaim it as input VAT, but you need to factor it into your landed-cost maths.
• SABER certification: Saudi requires most consumer goods to clear through the SABER platform (SASO standards) with a Certificate of Conformity. For phone cases this is a straightforward low-risk track, but it needs your importer’s account and a small per-certificate fee. On DDP terms this is handled for you; on DAP your clearing agent arranges it.
