The compact Pro, and the thickness problem

The 16 Pro is the smaller of the two Pro bodies, and buyers choose it because it still fits a hand. That puts a specific constraint on the case: every additional millimetre of wall is felt immediately, so protection has to be concentrated rather than spread evenly around the rim.

This is where a uniform wall gives itself away. It is cheaper to mould and it hides tooling tolerance, which is why most factories ship it — but on a compact body it turns a pocketable phone into a brick, and the case comes off after a week. The alternative is a stepped wall with the material moved to the corners and the screen edge, at the cost of an extra moulding operation. On this body the difference is not cosmetic.

The ring, and what it actually does

Closed, it parks flush against the back and the case is just a slim clear cover. Flicked out, it holds the handset at whatever angle you leave it — upright for a video call, tipped back for streaming. Because the pivot is continuous rather than notched, there is no single “best” angle to hunt for. The same ring is a hook for one-finger carrying, and it sits low enough that the shell still lies flat on a desk.

A clear back on a Pro-sized body

The back is one optical moulding, not a printed panel, so the handset’s own colour still reads through it. Everything is cut to this model: the 16 Pro carries a 6.3-inch body and a raised triple-camera plateau, and the apertures here follow that layout — camera opening, Camera Control window and port line included. The frame is single-piece, so there is no seam to collect grit where the back plate would otherwise meet a bumper.

Colours and stock code

Royal Blue, Light Pink, Light Purple, Dark Gray, Deep Purple, Matte Black, Transparent — seven finishes on this SKU, and the only one in the Pro range that offers a see-through option.
