The compact Pro, and the thickness problem

The 16 Pro is the smaller of the two Pro bodies, and buyers choose it because it still fits a hand. That puts a specific constraint on the case: every additional millimetre of wall is felt immediately, so protection has to be concentrated rather than spread evenly around the rim.

The shell is a single moulding, so the stand’s pivot is part of the case rather than a part bolted onto it. The soft-touch matte coat resists fingerprints and keeps the phone from sliding on a smooth desk, and the magnet ring sits inside the back plate so it stays flush. Around the camera the plate follows the 16 Pro’s raised plateau.
