The 360° Stand on Its Own Tooling
Most of this range runs on a mould shared between two generations of the same body. This one does not — it was cut for the 18 Pro Max's own outline, so the camera opening follows the new module exactly and the side cuts sit where this handset puts its buttons, rather than being averaged between two devices. That is also why the colour card for this build is shorter: a dedicated tool costs more to amortise.
The ring does three jobs. Folded flat it disappears into the back; lifted it holds the phone at whatever angle it is left, upright for a call or tipped back for video; and it can be hooked over a finger while scrolling. Because it turns continuously rather than clicking between stops, there is no single position to hunt for and no detent to wear out.
