Most stand cases are designed around the stand and the openings are placed wherever they will fit. The order is reversed here: the charge port, the speaker slots and the microphone pass-through are located one at a time against the model's own drawing, and only then is the rotating ring set into the shell.
The ring pivots through a full turn instead of locking at a single angle, so the handset can stand upright for a call or lean back for video without the prop being reset. It sits inside the moulding, which keeps the rear profile level when stowed and leaves no external bracket to catch on a pocket lining. The outer face is soft-touch matte and stays free of the shine that builds on a hard plastic shell.
