Take the ring out and three things change: nothing is embedded in the panel, the surface becomes a single unbroken layer, and the case sits marginally thinner over the spine. For a customer who charges on a cable or keeps the phone in a cradle, that is the better trade — they were never going to use the magnet, and the shell is lighter for not carrying it.
Everything else carries over from the magnetic edition: the same rigid panel and soft rim split, the same soft-touch coat, the same thirteen-name palette with Frosted Clear among them. On the Pro bodies this build also shares its mould across generations, so one tool serves both the current and previous year of the 6.3-inch handset.
